Week 10
Date: 11/15/18 Time: 4:30-6:30pm
Week #: 10
Quick Summary:
- We put two, small 3-D printed gears on the back of the vacuum.
- A rough prototype of a new bucket that holds two minerals at the same time was made.
- The back wheels are still spinning out.
What We Accomplished: For the first 45 minutes of the meeting we debriefed from Meet-0 and discussed our goals to accomplish before Meet 1. Afterwards, we fixed a problem that we had. The rubber bands that are on the 3-D printed gears and the rubber bands that are on the metal sprockets are hitting into each other. This is a problem that we discovered at the competition, so Luke printed two small gears to put in the back of the vacuum instead of the sprockets. We put them on today and this has fixed the problem. Titus also worked on strengthening and speeding up the vacuum. He added more rubber bands and fixed the programming to speed it up. Jason and Luke completed a rough prototype of a new bucket that we want to make. This bucket would be able to hold two minerals at the same time and therefore increase the amount of minerals that we could dispose in the lander during a match. Abigail worked on making a controller station out of a leftover panel board. This controller station holds the controls and the phone that the drivers use.
Our Problems: The prototype is too low to the ground. We need to raise it. The robot’s wheels are still spinning out when we drive.
